Our travelling Circus Life
camera: Jan Vroman, Manuela Mittehüber, editing: Koen Broucke, 2'55" + 7'16"
In recent years Koen Broucke has been working on the biographies and oeuvres of a series of fictitious artists. One of them is the megalomaniac, slightly eccentric Liszt impersonator, a mediocre musician but with the consciousness of a megastar. He creeps up on and violates valuable, historical pianos. These performances have already been filmed in Antwerp (B), Brussels (B), Breda (NL), Weimar (D) and Paris (FR). In Houthalen (B) he used a daring piece by Liszt as the soundtrack to the projection of the blowing up of a cardboard concert grand piano.
